A reporter and photographer from the Indy Star will also be at the games. This is a good opportunity to promote our club & sport here in Indy - let's take advantage of it.
Bring plenty of water & a cooler for afterwards if you want to
hang around afterwards and discuss your amazing
scores/blocks/tackles/whiffs, etc......
Quick reminder for practice in Broad Ripple at 6.15pm on Wednesday, July 16th.

ST LOUIS GAELIC FESTIVAL – JULY 05th
The boys from Indy set off bright & early for the St Louis Gaelic Festival on July 05th last. Upon arrival in St Louis we were treated to a day full of sporting endeavor with hurling, Gaelic football and even a bit of pitch-forking bales of hay taking place…!!
On the hurling front, Indy acquitted themselves well, playing 4 games, winning 2, and competing very keenly in all of them. Congrats to Milwaukee as the eventual winners of the hurling competition.
All in all, it was a thoroughly enjoyable day (and night in Pat’s bar) with great credit due to our hosts, St Louis GAA Club, for staging such a well organized tournament.
The travel team for Boston has been picked. Anyone traveling including player, please pass your travel details on to Dave Maish, as hes collecting the info for all.
The Ancient And Grand Sport of
Hurling
I've lost track of the number of times I've had to
tell people that hurling is NOT the game where you slide rocks down
the ice (that's curling,
btw).
Hurling is an ancient sport that pre-dates written
Irish history. In Irish folk tales, the great folk hero CuChulain
got his name when he defended himself against a great attack dog
with a hurley and sliotar. Today, hurling is one of the national
sports of Ireland. The All-Ireland Finals held every fall consistently
draw 60,000-70,000 spectators.
