As such, the committee is seeking to diversify from hurling to golf for one glorious afternoon, and they have given the go ahead (not to mention a HUGE budget...) to stage the club's inaugural golf outing.

Here's the basics:
Date & Time:  Saturday, October 10th, 2009 at 1pm - Shotgun start.
Location: Winding Ridge Golf Club (map), on Indy's eastside - near German Church Rd & 56th Street
Format:  20 teams of 4 players per team.  Scramble Format - see note below
Fee:  $50 per person includes the following:

• Green fee.
• Cart fee.
• Scorecard.
• Team Prizes, as well as longest drive & closest to pin
• Competitions.
• Use of the banquet facility and balcony overlooking the course.
• Buffet style dinner of burgers, hotdogs, 2 x salads, soft drink & chips.

Bonus options:

Players of ALL (or no) skill levels are invited, as the emphasis will be on having a fun day out - no need for tantrums, stomping of feet or throwing of clubs....

What do you need to do to play for the day?  Simple really, send Ciaran an email indicating your desire to play and I'll pencil you in.  If you want to enter a full team or bring a couple of friends, just include their names on your email. Once you've entered, I'll follow up with you for the entry fee (cash or cheque only) and confirm your entry in the outing.

Note on the Scramble Format:
(In a scramble, each player tees off on each hole. The best of the tee shots is selected and all players play their second shots from that spot. The best of the second shots is determined, then all play their third shots from that spot, and so on until the ball is holed.  For our outing, each player's score, on each team, must count at least 3 times over the 18 holes.)
