Indy Hurling has been asked once again to participate in the Eastwood Middle School International Fest. This year, in addition to hosting an informative booth on Tuesday, we plan to up the ante with exciting live hurling action. The team has been scheduled to play a scrimmage on the school's football field from 3:20-3:50 as one off the highights of the festival. Players will meet at the field at 3pm for the event. This is a great honor and wonderful opportunity for the club to showcase the grand sport of hurling in front of a captive audience of 600 students and teachers.
Eastwood Middle School hosts the interdisciplinary festival yearly with their 7th graders leading the creative effort. The East and West gyms combine and transform into a celebration of diversity which is both entertaining and educational. In 2009, Indy Hurling hosted our first booth with the school. For 2010, last year's Indiana Foreign Language Teachers Association's K-8 Teacher of the Year and festival co-founder Nicci Saari has personally invited Indy Hurling to join the event with our expanded role.
The club sincerely appreciates the chance to take part in this day. This is a rare chance to grow the sport of hurling, as we don't often get the opportunity to play in front of this many people. Players should do their best to arrange their schedules to join the team on the pitch.
