Winter Recap
Reflection on the long, cold off-season
Though one might not have guessed so by this season's monotonous onslaught of snow storms - Winter's days are actually numbered.

So before we get distracted with the coming Spring, this would be a great time to reflect on how the club spent the time off.

The highlight for most this offseason was the End of Year Banquet held January 9.  Awards were awarded, drinks were drunk, and laughs were laughed by the scores of revellers in attendance.  Bugg's Temple provided a perfect backdrop for the festivities, and we may want to remember that location in the future.

In contrast to that social gathering, the last day of January was spent planning for the future in the Annual General Meeting.  Much business was discussed, and the election of 2010 club officers was held.  Your 2010 board is:

  • Chairman - Brian Church
  • Vice Chair - Jonathon Tobin
  • Secretary - Brian Mathes
  • Treasurer - Charles Anderson
  • Public Relations - Louis Landman
  • Events Chair - David Littlejohn
  • Sponsorship Chair - Jim Kelly
  • At large - Orla Hart
  • At large - Andy Hazel

This Winter, Kyle Griffith organized a running club to help some of us stay in shape during the off season.

And although there was no formal winter hurling league, the quasi-traditional Winter Blitz took place in 6 inches of snow in mid-February.

As much fun as this has all been, our raison d’être will be upon us in suprisingly few weeks.  Actual hurling action will commence with practice Wednesday, April 7, at Broad Ripple Park.  So get your gear together, gather your friends, and feel that adrenaline surge as the countdown begins....
